New service lets you share a birthday cake with friends virtually

A Brussels food truck owner has found a coronavirus-compliant way to celebrate a birthday party among friends - including share a cake together.

Birthday Around Brussels bakes a personalisable cake and delivers it to the person's home on their birthday. Friends can join in with the cutting of the cake via video stream.

Then, each participant receives a home-delivered slice of the cake. Delivery is available throughout Brussels, Flemish Brabant and Walloon Brabant and the total price ranges from €30 to €50.

The concept was thought up by Jean-Baptiste Nyssen, a familiar face in Brussels who can be normally found selling gourmet croque monsieurs from his food truck, Keep On Toasting.
