K-pop idols BTS to play King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels on 1 & 2 July
Korean boy band BTS will perform in Brussels on 1 and 2 July in one of the biggest tours of the year, event organiser Live Nation has announced.
Tickets for the concerts at King Baudouin Stadium in Heysel go on sale on 24 January. The K-pop idols are returning to the stage with a new album in a 79-country global tour after a four-year hiatus.
BTS kick off the tour in South Korea before performing 360° shows in stadiums across Asia, Europe and America. Further concert dates extending into 2027 are due to be announced.
Making their debut in 2013, the act spearheaded the popularity of K-pop in the west thanks to slick performances and unusually introspective lyrics. Their dedicated fanbase, known as the Army, helped propel their superstar status.
A previous world tour by the Grammy winners in 1922 was the highest-earning for a K-pop act with takings of $246m. A new global trek was in the pipeline when the last member of the band completed their postponed mandatory military service last summer.
BTS stands for Bangtan Boys, Bangtan Sonyeondan or “Beyond the Scene”, and consists of RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook, who co-write and co-produce their material.
