Brussels Muzieque presents jazz fusion concert on 28 February
Rooted in classical virtuosity and driven by the freedom of jazz, clarinettist Anton Jakimenko brings together three musical worlds in an intimate acoustic trio concert on 28 February.
Born in Uzbekistan and shaped in the Netherlands, Anton’s musical journey moves from rigorous classical training to a vibrant jazz language — lyrical, rhythmically alive and deeply expressive.
He is joined by two exceptional musicians. José Santibáñez on upright bass boasts warm, grounded grooves shaped by Chilean roots and the Amsterdam’s jazz scene, while Agus Fulka on acoustic guitar possesses a subtle virtuosity where Argentine–Spanish traditions meet jazz harmony and folk textures.
This trio explores original compositions alongside reimagined classics, blending Latin American rhythms, tango melancholy, and jazz improvisation into a fresh, danceable acoustic sound. Clarinet lines inspired by the swing of Goodman and Shaw and the Latin jazz of Paquito D’Rivera weave seamlessly through bass grooves and guitar colours.
The concert promises an intimate evening of acoustic jazz — pure sound, close listening and musical conversation.
