Brussels gets another electric moped scheme, Felyx

20:40 04/06/2019

A new electric moped-sharing scheme launches in Brussels this month, with 600 vehicles available to hire.

Dutch company Felyx is expanding to the Belgian capital from mid-June, focusing on Brussels-City, Ixelles, Saint-Gilles, Etterbeek and Uccle.

Felyx co-founder Quentin Selhorst said the presence of "many students, young workers and expats" in Brussels meant the demand for quick and easy transport options was strong.

The electric mopeds are limited to 45kph and come with their own helmet.

Felyx - which already operates in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague - will be be competing with Scooty, which has been in Brussels since late 2016.
