Belgian firefighters learn new tricks in Nashville

11:10 29/05/2013

A dozen firefighter from Belgium are wrapping up a week-long trip to the US during which they learnt a few tricks from some of Nashville's fire crews, reports News Channel 5’s Jason Lamb. In addition to learning about local customs, they've also learned about how Nashville's fire department goes about its business - comparing stories about types of fires and the type of equipment they use. They were even on scene of a massive apartment fire in Antioch on Sunday, watching the Metro Fire Department at work. "No matter how advanced or how much knowledge you have in a subject, you can always learn from someone else or another part of the country," said Metro Fire Department Deputy Chief Danny Yates. It isn't the first time firefighters from Belgium have visited Nashville - a first group went to Tennessee in 2010.
