Youth pelt police with stones in Brussels

The Brussels police on Friday were attacked by a group of youth near Place Flagey. The officers were pelted with stones and cans, said a spokesperson for the Brussels-Capital Region in La Dernière Heure.

The police reacted to a call just before 20.00 on Friday evening about a group of young people causing trouble at Place Flagey. Shortly after arriving on the scene, the officers made one arrest for aggressive behaviour. The group reacted by pelting the police with stones and cans, or beating them with sticks.

The newspaper La Dernière Heure managed to get the rights to an amateur video of the incident. Some officers were injured, confirms Ilse Van de Keere of the Brussels police.
