QSuper help
Good afternoon everyone. Would anyone know a financial advisor in Belgium who can help me with QSuper? I am turning 55 soon and my Qsuper Deferred Retired Benefit will be closed and I have to decide about my Qsuper accumulation account. I have no idea what all of this means and would appreciate some AUS-BEL advice as I am self-employed here so none of it seems straightforward. I would like to make informed decisions about retirement. TIA for your help and advice.
Hi ozanon, I don't have specific advice relating to Australian pensions schemes, but as a general warning, please be exceptionally careful with your pension investments now that you are getting to within a decade or so of retirement.
Personally I would advise you, before you do anything else, to go direct to QSuper and speak to them. They have a dedicated financial advice team.

Next point is to be really careful dealing with "expat" financial advisors. You probably have a reasonable lump sum accumulated in your pension scheme and for most "financial advisors", this is a an amazing opportunity to earn a big juicy commission out of your money by getting you to transfer your funds to another scheme.
Some of this advice is years old, but I've made a number of posts about pensions and savings over the years. Here are just a few of them;
