Pool is Cool opens Brussels swim spot Flow with big splash on Friday

Pool is Cool opens Flow in Brussels
19:17 30/06/2022

Brussels outdoor pool Flow reopens for the summer from 1 July until 18 September. Organiser Pool is Cool promises to launch the season on Friday at 13.00 with a big splash.

The non-profit campaigner for accessible outdoor swimming in the capital is inviting project partners, politicians and other supporters to the launch event.

It’s the second consecutive summer that the 17m x 7m pop-up pool, complete with sun decks, is opening along the canal in Anderlecht. Fitness classes and swimming lessons will be run at the site that also serves as a seasonal cultural venue with music, movies and art performances. Partners include Zinnema, Piknik Elektronic and Cinema Galeries.

Flow remains free for swimmers who reserve at the pool or drop in for a last-minute dip if there are free places. But for online reservations of a 45-minute time slot, a €2 fee will be charged for adults, €1.50 for teenagers and €1 for children.

The pool has a kiosk selling drinks and snacks and a supply of swimwear and towels for forgetful swimmers.

While the water spot is open daily from 12.15 (occasionally 13.00), early bird swimmers can take advantage of two slots at 8.30 and 9.15. During events, the time allowed in the pool will be extended.

Pool is Cool continues its crowdfunding campaign Je Veux Nager to raise €60,000 for a permanent open-air swimming pool in the capital.
