Agreement reached on new trambus route to Brussels Airport
The municipal councils of Vilvoorde, Machelen and Grimbergen and the Flemish government have agreed on the new trambus' planned route between the Heysel and Brussels Airport from 2019, writes Bruzz.
Flemish public transport company De Lijn collaborated with experts, stakeholders and authorities in dialogue with residents to determine the trambus route. It includes the 'ring tram', which will travel from the Heysel via Vilvoorde, Machelen and Diegem to Brussels Airport. "The ring trambus is a broad-based project that offers short-term commuters an alternative to sitting in traffic," said Flemish mobility minister Ben Weyts.
