Belgium-bound Brits wanted for BBC programme

The BBC has announced the commission of a brand new series, Escape to the Continent, a brand extension of BBC One’s popular daytime show Escape to the Country, and its makers are looking for British people looking to move to Belgium. Escape to the Continent will offer an insight into life living abroad – from competitively priced homes, stunning locations, employment openings and leisure opportunities as well as a dose of reality on issues such as property law, local taxation and healthcare. Presenter Nicki Chapman (pictured) – a regular Escape to the Country host - and a mix of new faces will present the 60 min daytime series. Escape to the Country first aired in 2002 and is currently in production for its 14th series. The latest series on air regularly wins its time slot and is the UK’s highest rated daytime property show of 2013. Pam Cavannagh, Executive Producer BBC Daytime, comments: “After many successful series’ of Escape to the Country I’m delighted we’re now able to offer viewers an insight into the practicalities of a move further afield.” People wishing to appear on the show can apply via the BBC website .
