5 million rides on Villo!

Villo!, Brussels’ self-service bike hire scheme, recently counted the 5 millionth ride since its launch in 2009. In five years’ time, Villo! managed to convince 32,000 people to take a subscription for reguar use of its bikes. These subscribers, along with a great number of occasional users, have taken the yellow bikes out for a spin a total of 5 million times, according to State Secretary for Mobility Bruno De Lille.

Meanwhile the Villo! network is almost complete, providing users with access to 5,000 bikes in 360 stations spread across 19 municipalities. Almost seven percent of the bikes riding around in Brussels are Villo! bikes.
