The Bulletin's latest edition is out now! Read our free digital magazine here

The Bulletin magazine 2020

Welcome to The Bulletin’s first online magazine

As it has in so many industries, the Covid-19 crisis has forced us to rethink the way we work. That’s why, instead of printing and distributing The Bulletin magazine as we’d planned to this autumn, we’ve transformed our editorial content into a free digital platform.

The stories you’ll see here are all part of our ongoing mission to help our readers understand Belgium

With the country and the world thrown into turmoil by the pandemic, it’s never been more important to feel like part of a community. And as Belgium makes unwanted international headlines, it’s never been more important to try and understand how the country works.

So, in addition to exploring how Belgium’s political system is handling the crisis, we look at some of the other big topics that have made the news this year. Whether it’s the ongoing problem with discrimination, interpretation of euthanasia laws or how Belgian royals are having to confront their past, we haven’t shied away from the big stories of the day.

And this wouldn’t be The Bulletin, of course, if we didn’t also delve into the cultural sector, provide practical advice on daily life and hear from the international community. So read on to learn how cultural institutions are dealing with the challenges of Covid, how folk are coping with the second round of lockdown, and how to keep bills down now many of us are spending much more time at home.

As ever, we’d love to know your thoughts

Let us know if there are any burning Belgian issues you’d like us to investigate or any voices you’d like to hear from. Enjoy the read, keep in touch and stay safe!
