World Cup: Belgium through to last 16 after beating South Korea 1-0
Belgium sailed through to the second round of the World Cup on Thursday, after beating South Korea 1-0 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Red Devils, who have now won all three of their first-round matches, now take on the US on Tuesday, 1 July, in Salvador de Bahia.
As in Sunday’s match against Russia, the Red Devils kept fans waiting before hitting their winner. The score stood 0-0 at half-time, after an uninspiring start. The game heated up in the last 20minutes, when defender Jan Vertonghen followed up a blocked Divock Origi shot in the 77th minute.
Following the Red Devils’ latest victory, outgoing prime minister Elio Di Rupo tweeted the following challenge to US president Barack Obama: “Hey @BarackObama, I am betting some great Belgian beers that our @BelRedDevils will make it to the quarter final! :-) #ComeOnBelgium #BEL”

If I understand well, they were already through after Belgium-Russia, but what was cool about them beating S Korea is that they will next be matched up against America, rather than Germany.
