Where is my train? New SNCB map has the answer

22:00 25/09/2018

The SNCB has come up with a new way of informing passengers about possible delays - by plotting every train in Belgium on a live map.

Train Map uses the existing real-time information displayed in stations and on the SNCB website and app. The map allows travellers to click on any train to find out where it will be stopping and whether it is running on time.

"Travellers can locate their train at any time and view information about the service," the SNCB said. "Train Map allows the traveller to zoom in on a specific route and to display the train's itinerary."

Using the map, passengers could also discover that a preceding train on the line is running late - and that they could catch that one instead.

The SNCB hopes to develop the map further, including the addition of a geolocation feature that will automatically detect where a user is - and where their nearest train is.
