No trams between Montgomery and Tram Museum for six months
Public transport users in Tervuren, Auderghem and Woluwe-Saint-Pierre face another six months of disruption as tram lines 39 and 44 in Brussels will be partly suspended from 3 October until 26 March next year due to track works.
No trams will run between Montgomery station and the Tram Museum station during this period.
Brussels public transport operator Stib will provide replacement buses. A T-bus will run between the Merode and Madoux stops via Montgomery and the Tram Museum.
The works aim to replace the tram tracks along Avenue de Tervuren.
PCC trams, which are the oldest type of tram used by Stib and are not accessible to people with wheelchairs or pushchairs, are currently still operating on lines 39 and 44 because the current layout of the terminus at Montgomery does not allow for the operation of modern trams.
Stib will therefore modify the terminus in addition to replacing the tracks on Avenue de Tervuren.
The lane next to the tram tracks on this road will be occupied by the construction site in some places.
Local traffic will still be permitted and will be temporarily diverted via the parking zones. Parking there will not be possible while the works are in progress.
