U2 coming to Belgium in 2015

11:06 04/12/2014

For the first time since 2010, the legendary Irish rock band U2 will return to Belgium. As part of their iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour, the band have announced two concert dates at Antwerp’s Sportpaleis on October 13 and 14. It will be U2’s 25th appearance in Belgium, exactly 35 years since the first time they performed in the country.

"In the Claridge Club in Brussels," recalls Studio Brussel presenter Stijn Van de Voorde in Het Gazet van Antwerpen. "There weren’t a lot of people, because the hype around the band in the UK had not yet reached Belgium. A year later, Bono and co came back to our country for a performance at the Brielpoort in Deinze, but it wasn’t until they played Rock Werchter that they became popular here. Since then, U2 have often talked in interviews of their special bond with Belgium.”
