Train passengers spread anti-Semitic messages through intercom
Four rail passengers got control of the intercom and spread anti-Semitic messages throughout the entire train. The incident happened yesterday afternoon between Mechelen and Antwerp.
Rail security was alerted but the four young people managed to elude the Securail officers and run off after arriving in Mechelen. SNCB has condemned the actions of the passengers.
Passengers do not normally have access to the intercom system in a train, and SNCB is now investigating how such a thing could have happened.
In Belgium, it is illegal to incite people to hate or commit violence against any person or group of people, so, depending on what the passengers said, they could face criminal charges if identified.
