Tour of district for Flemish civil servants a great success
The free, guided walking tour of the Tour & Taxis district organised by the Flemish government to help its employees get to know the area around their future work site at Tour & Taxis is a great success, according to the Brussels edition of La Dernière Heure.
Initially there were 15 of the 1.5 hour-long guided tours planned for the civil servants. Now there are 24 walks scheduled, which are all fully booked.
The offices of the Flemish government are currently located in a building near the station Brussels North. By 2018, however, the nearly 2,600 civil servants will move to the other side of the canal, a decision that previously encountered a lot of resistance because of the distance and the poor reputation of the neighbourhood. Therefore the Flemish government decided to organise the tours of the area.
