Tom Waes to represent UNICEF Belgium

Belgian television celebrity Tom Waes is the new volunteer ambassador for UNICEF Belgium. He was appointed by the organisation’s Board of Directors for a period of two years. Waes joins fellow Belgian celebrities Axelle Red, Helmut Lotti and Tatiana Silva as volunteer ambassadors for the organisation.

The ambassadors are chosen by UNICEF to be the face of certain activities or campaigns, but are also encouraged to come up with their own initiatives in support of children’s rights around the world, in consultation with UNICEF Belgium.

"The volunteer ambassadors play an important role in communication, advocacy work and fundraising for UNICEF Belgium,” the organisation explained yesterday in a press release. “They contribute to the achievement of both financial and non-financial objectives and our efforts to protect and defend the rights of the world’s most vulnerable children.”
