Seven new restaurants in Belgium have been awarded the coveted Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand accolade for 2026.

Recognising their exception value for money, the announcement by the gourmet bible comes just days before the highly anticipated Michelin star reveal.

The Bib Gourmand rewards standout dining establishments that offer affordable menus, regardless of their culinary style or concept.

“Times are changing,” says the director of the Michelin Guide for Belgium and Luxembourg, summing up the style of cuisine to top the selection.

“Finding Bib Gourmand restaurants is becoming increasingly challenging. It won't surprise you to learn that the situation is complicated for chefs. However, we are seeing that Asian restaurants are adapting somewhat better. Their concepts offer more possibilities. With patiently simmered broth and homemade noodles, they create a rich and generous culinary experience.”

Reflecting the Belgian capital’s cosmopolitan character, Brussels boasts three new Bib Gourmand restaurants, which all draw inspiration from Asian cuisine.

ÔNGBÀ in Ixelles (pictured, main image) offers an original take on Vietnamese street food, while Stone Dial in Uccle, serves authentic and warm Chinese cuisine in atmospheric surroundings.

basta

In Wallonia, Basta! (pictured above) Is a family-run restaurant providing Italian cuisine with a Sicilian touch in Wanze, in Liège province. The cuisine at Restaurant Coquo in Bierwart, in Namur province, is simple and authentic; a contemporary tribute to quality ingredients.

ching

The two restaurants in Flanders that join the selection are Den Bourgondiër in Wilrijk, which lives up to its name with classic French cuisine that showcases the expertise of its seasoned chef. Finally, Ching Ching (pictured above) is a new and stylish eatery in the village of Emblem, also in Antwerp province, that celebrates Chinese tradition with personality and quality.

The new Michelin Stars for 2026 will be unveiled at the New Stock Exchange in Antwerp on 4 May.
