Thirteen new Michelin-starred restaurants in Belgium and Luxembourg
The 2025 edition of the culinary bible has awarded 13 restaurants in Belgium and Luxembourg their first Michelin star.
They join a galaxy of gastronomic dining establishments following the announcement of the awards at Handelbeurs in Antwerp.
In total, the new gourmet selection recommends 790 restaurants, including 151 Michelin-starred restaurants, spread across Belgium and Luxembourg.
Among the addresses receiving a second Michelin star was Maison Colette in Tongerlo, in the province of Antwerp. Three restaurants had their commitment to more eco-responsible gastronomy honoured with the Michelin Green Star: Sophie & Nicolas in Comblain-la-Tour, Liège province, and Gasthuis in Mechelen.
In Brussels, renowned chef Kobe Desramaults (pictured) picked up a first star for his newly-opened restaurant Eliane. The chef “demonstrates great creativity at Eliane, where he creates intense dishes that make the most of quality products, such as in this creamy risotto, enriched with yellow wine and paired with oysters,” noted the guide.
Meanwhile, four new restaurants in Wallonia joined the Michelin club: Vicomté by young chef of the year Quentin Gallopyn in Roucourt (Hainaut), Le beau rivage by Curtis by Curtis Maquet in Dave (Namur), Un max de goût by Maxime Zimmer in Comblain-au-Pont (Liège), and Bistrot Blaise by chef François-Xavier Simon in Marche-en-Famenne (Luxembourg).
In Flanders, the newly-starred establishments are: Mémoire by chef Wouter Van Tichelen in Bruges; Haut by Dimitri Proost in Ostend; La Botte by Giuseppe Giacomazza in Genk; Le Julien by Davy Devlieghere in Lotenhulle; and Modest by chef Sander Spreeuwers in Opglabbeek (Limburg).
For gourmet fans on a tighter budget, three restaurants in the capital received a Bib Gourmand, an award which recognises great meals at moderate prices: Babam in Watermael-Boitsfort, Lune Siamoise in Ixelles and Au repos de la montagne in Uccle.
