Subsidies for company cars highest in Belgium

11:20 02/10/2014

No other country gives more tax benefits for company cars as Belgium. A company in Belgium receives a monthly tax benefit of €230, a world record, reports De Standaard.

Companies around the world use company cars in order to reduce their tax burden on labour costs. On average, all the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) countries combined provide an annual subsidy of €1,600 per vehicle, or €133 per month. In Belgium, that figure is much higher, around €230 per month.

The record high subsidies in Belgium are increasingly under fire for contributing to the country’s pollution and traffic problems.
