Start your own business in Belgium: Join our free seminar on 16 May

20:49 27/04/2019

A popular expat event is returning on 16 May: Start Your Own Business in Belgium, where attendees learn everything they need to know to get a start-up off the ground.

Now could be the ideal time: on 1 May, far reaching changes to Belgian company law come into force, making it easier and cheaper to set up a business in Belgium.

Local Knowledge, a company specialised in helping expats become self-employed or launch a business, has teamed up with ING, The Bulletin and Group S to offer this free half-day seminar, which will take you through the practical and essential steps you need to take to get your business up and running.

In her keynote speech, Anne-Sofie van den Born Rehfeld, a Danish entrepreneur and the founder of The Library Group, will highlight some of the character traits you need to develop to survive life as an entrepreneur.

After the keynote, attendees will join four round-table discussions in turn, led by experts in various fields related to starting up. The small group sizes mean you can easily listen to and discuss with each of the expert speakers.

The sessions will cover your options for legal incorporation, how to register your activity with the Belgian authorities, banking services for businesses and the tax and finance issues that you must consider.

Start Your Own Business in Belgium is free, but advance registration is required. The event is entirely in English and takes place on 16 May from 13.30 to 17.30 at ING Art Centre, Place Royale 5, 1000 Brussels
