SNCB places first baby changing tables in men's toilets

Brussels' Gare du Midi and Liège-Guillemins rail stations have become the first in Belgium to install baby changing facilities in the men's toilets.

Belgian rail operator SNCB said the changing tables had been introduced "to meet the expectations of families".

In the absence of a dedicated baby changing room, dads who need to change a nappy often find the changing tables are placed only in the women's loos.

The SNCB has pledged to place more changing tables in main railway stations around the country. Where possible they will be located in areas accessible to both men and women.

In Brussels, cafes and restaurants and being offered a free baby changing table if they back a campaign to welcome breastfeeding mums.
