Red Devils aircraft joins Brussels Airlines special fleet

14:46 05/04/2016

Brussels Airlines on Tuesday unveiled its third plane with a special design: the Red Devils aircraft, created in honour of the Belgian national football team. The aircraft, nicknamed “Trident”, joins the airline's fleet of custom-designed aircraft, which include one plane decorated with an image of Tintin, and another with a work by Belgian surrealist painter René Magritte, writes Brusselnieuws.

The company had intended to unveil the new plane in a celebratory fashion, but chose instead for a small, exclusive ceremony for Brussels Airlines staff, out of respect for the victims of the March terror attacks.

“Our Airbus A320 with registration number OO-SNA is dedicated to our national pride: the Belgian Red Devils. For everything they have given us in their rise to the top, and for all the exciting matches still ahead of us,” reads the website of Brussels Airlines.

“Sporting the faces of our national football players including Vincent Kompany, Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard and so many more, our Airbus will take to the skies throughout Europe.”

The aircraft's flashy design will remain until 2022.

National pride......Footballers that would vanish like the morning mist if they were not granted a "special" rate of tax. Can't have the peasants seeing the footballers leave, eh?
