Plane from Brussels makes emergency landing in Sofia

12:55 11/08/2014

A plane en route from Brussels to Istanbul on Saturday made an emergency landing in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia. It was feared that there might be explosives on board. An unattended laptop was the cause of suspicion.

The laptop found on the Turkish Airlines flight appeared to belong to none of the passengers on board. “An unclaimed portable computer gave rise to suspicion of explosives," explains the Bulgarian airport in a press release.

After the emergency landing, the passengers were evacuated and the necessary security checks were carried out. The laptop was promptly removed from the aircraft and detonated. Two hours later, the plane could continue to its final destination.

"The laptop was promptly removed from the aircraft and detonated."

The report is absolutely accurate as far as I can see and not sensational at all. All news agencies report that the laptop was removed and destroyed by controlled explosion, as is the norm with any suspect package/object. Has Audrey been living under a rock for the last few decades?
