Pile-up on Brussels ring leads to two-hour delays

08:57 11/01/2022

A five-vehicle pile-up on the Brussels ring led to two hours of traffic delays on Tuesday morning.

The accident blocked the anti-clockwise ring near Zellik at about 7.00.

Queuing traffic went all the way back to Machelen and vehicles could only pass the accident using the emergency lane.

Two trucks and three cars were involved in the pile-up. One person was slightly injured.

One lane was cleared about an hour later. Drivers approaching Brussels from the east were encouraged to use the clockwise ring instead.
