Number of free wifi hotspots in Brussels reaches 52

16:33 16/05/2016

The Brussels employment office Actiris this week connects 11 of its local branches to the Brussels-Capital Region's free wireless network Urbizone, bringing the total number of free hotspots in Brussels up to 52, says state secretary for digitisation Bianca Debaets. "Digital Inclusion means that all Brussels residents should eventually have access to the Internet. It has become a basic right," says Debaets.

With the rollout of Urbizone @ Actiris, the employment office aims to make it easier for job seekers to look for a job using a fast and reliable Internet connection, according to Bruzz. The following Actiris branches will be online by the end of this week: Uccle, Saint-Gilles, Schaerbeek, Evere, Saint-Josse-ten-Node, Brussels, Sint-Jans-Molenbeek, Jette, Forest and Anderlecht.

Urbizone is a service of the Brussels Regional Informatics Centre (BRIC) and Irisnet. Access to the wifi hotspots is free following registration with an email address.
