Belgium Cello Society presents recital by Bruno Delepelaire on 1 October

The Belgium Cello Society (BCS) stages its second recital of the season showcasing French cellist Bruno Delepelaire (pictured above)and pianist Kim Barbier.

Principal cellist of the Berliner Philharmoniker since 2013, Delepelaire has captivated audiences worldwide with his expressive power and dazzling technique. Praised for his “clarity and fire” by Der Tagesspiegel and described as playing “beautifully enough to make you cry” by the Berliner Morgenpost, the cellist brings a refined artistry to every performance.

Delepelaire will be joined by acclaimed French pianist Kim Barbier (pictured above). She is known for her international solo career and collaborations with leading artists including Sol Gabetta, Emmanuel Pahud and François Leleux. A sought-after chamber musician and recording artist, Barbier’s playing has been featured on major labels and broadcast across Europe and Asia.

Their recital includes Beethoven’s radiant Cello Sonata No. 3 in A major, Grieg’s sweeping Cello Sonata and two lyrical miniatures by Fauré.

BCS founder and artistic director Han Bin Yoon says: “Bruno and Kim are extraordinary musicians whose artistry and brilliance promise an evening of lyrical beauty. We are particularly pleased that we were able to share with our Belgian public a little glimpse of the captivating soul of the world-renowned Berlin Philharmonic with Bruno's presence."
