Brussels’ Etesiane orchestra in search of host families for visiting musicians this summer

Etesiane orchestra looking for host families for musicians
08:19 29/05/2024

The Etesiane orchestra is looking for host families in Brussels to accommodate musicians from 21 to 27 July and 3 to 4 August.

Fifteen musicians are heading to the Belgian capital from South America, the US, Portugal, Spain as well as Flanders and Wallonia for the orchestra’s summer rehearsals before going on tour in the Haute-Savoie region of France.

Founded and directed by Gabriel Hollander, the orchestra envisages young musicians and host families sharing a week together to follow each other's activities. The musicians will have an opportunity to discover life in Brussels and the host family can find out about life in an international orchestra.

All hosts will have the opportunity to join the list of 'Friends of Etesiane’ and attend rehearsals during the week; a live experience within the 50-member orchestra.

At the end of the rehearsal period, a final run through will take the form of a late morning public concert on 27 July. It will be followed by a potluck lunch (auberge espagnole) for the musicians and the public with everyone invited to bring a dish to share.

For more information about the host family project, call Muriel on 0486 36 00 98 or send an email to etesiane@gmail.com.
