Nightclub donates coats to Brussels’ homeless
Hasselt nightclub Versuz on Thursday delivered hundreds of coats to Samusocial, a non-profit organisation that provides shelter for the homeless in Brussels. All of the coats were left in the nightclub last year.
"Two years ago, we drove into Brussels with a van full of coats to divide among the homeless ourselves," Versuz general manager Yves Smolders told Het Nieuwsblad. "But that didn’t work so well. Therefore a collaboration with Samusocial, which organises shelter for the homeless at night, was a logical choice. We are happy that we found each other."
Samusocial is equally pleased with the arrangement. "These jackets will quickly find a new owner," said coordinator Christophe Thielens.
Samusocial provides night shelter for approximately 800 homeless people in Brussels.
