Netflix to expand services to Belgium

09:15 21/05/2014

At the end of 2014, Netflix, American provider of on-demand Internet media streaming, will expand its services to include a number of European countries, including Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and Luxembourg.

There has long been speculation about the possible arrival of Netflix in Belgium, rumours that the US company previously denied. But now the company confirms its upcoming expansion into Europe.

Netflix is already available in the UK and the Netherlands. Worldwide, the streaming service has about 48 million users in over 40 countries. It allows subscribers to stream movies and TV shows on various devices.

So far Netflix has not communicated any details on the exact launch date in Belgium, or how much membership will cost.

Netflix is also available in Sweden and Finland. In Finland the monthly fee has recently risen by 1euro to 8.99euros per month. Apparently France will have it for 10euros per month so the amount should be about the same for Belgium.
