How to apply to Belgian University from UK address, UK passport.

Question

My daughter (bilingual Fre/Eng) wishes to apply for a business/management undergraduate course in Belgium. How does she do this?
Separate applications to several unis? When are applications usually made? Interview required? She will have 3 A levels eg Maths, Economics, Sociology.

I think failure rate is also complicated by the entry system - to enter many courses (not high pressure ones like medicine and engineering) all you need to do is pass the school leaving certificate. But then what happens is some of the kids fail because they decide their first choice course is not for them and they transfer to do a new course the following year. It's much easier to do that here than in the UK. So the failure rate combines those who fail, and maybe do the first year again and those that give up and do something different. Also, failure rates vary between courses - anything from 25% to 50%. I think medicine might be even higher.

Anon: The only death is more accurate. And when they are collecting the funds in the street they haven't started to drink yet and it's just once a year.

Is Solvay Business School just part of ULB? Same affordable undergraduate fees?
Do Belgian-based companies prefer to take on Belgian (citizen) graduates?

College towns like Leuven and Louvain-la-Neuve are known for their (student) drinking culture, might be less the case in Brussels and elsewhere. But from what I've noticed even the drunk ones usually are not aggressive or even particularly obnoxious. Belgians seem to be reserved even when inebriated.

The failure rate is quite high at Belgian universities, but the main reason for that is that tuition is so low, as well as the fact that only medicine and a handful of other courses have entrance exams. It means lots of young people have a 'why not'? attitude. If your daughter is motivated and intelligent enough, it shouldn't be a problem.
