Groen politician experiments with cycling to Brussels
Groen party politician Björn Rzoska is commuting to his work in Brussels for three months by speed pedelec to statistically build the case for faster e-bikes. Rzoska rides 50 km by e-bike every morning from his home in Lokeren, East Flanders, to the Flemish Parliament, sharing his experiences by video, writes Het Laatste Nieuws.
Already two months into the experiment, Rzoska has clocked more than 1,700 km, accounting for 54 hours of cycling. He hopes to pass the 2,000 km mark this week. “Faster than by car,” he exclaimed after his first trip, which he completed in 44 minutes, a time that he now has down to about 38 minutes.
“I lose the most time in Brussels,” Rzoska says. His videos testify to all sorts of obstacles for cyclists to watch out for in the city, such as cars and concrete blocks on the bike path. He is positive, however, about the bus lanes where cyclists are allowed.

What is a 'speed pedelec'?
Sounds like Dunglish or Flemglish for some sort of speedy electric pedal bike. Or maybe not. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedelec
Why not experiment with living in Brussels?
