getting 5-10 banana cartons full of clothes to N England

Question

Hello, is anyone heading from Central Brussels to the NE of England in the next 3-4 weeks who has space for some banana cartons filled with clothes for our daughter at Uni there? I guess each one weights 5-6 kg ... anytime before December 6th is ideal...and what can we offer you for this? We can deliver to you also within 50km of BXL B1000.

A little tip. Roll up clothes so they are the same length. Then pack tightly into 1 or 2 suitcases. Can your daughter not then come and collect her own clothes using a Ryanair flight or blablacar? That will be your cheapest method of transport.
Good luck bringing it back, my adult kids have a single large suitcase at university of clothes for ease of them transporting themselves.

If you roll up the clothes, as I said, you'll probably fit them into 1 or 2 suitcases. Please read. I never said fly with 5 suitcases, I said compact to 1 or 2 suitcases.

There is a plentiful supply of flights with Ryanair for November, £20 flight, £48 for 40kg in 2 suitcases, that is £68. I think you might find that is the cheapest way of personal delivery.

Otherwise 30kg costs 40 euro with BPost, 2 parcels might cover it for 80 euro. By rolling the clothes and compacting them, it will be far easier.

I think it's about time you had a special chat to your daughter, and carefully explain the facts of life.

Like how to find and use a launderette.

Have a look at www.anyvan.com
You can post your job on the site then someone who's going that way will make a bid in due course. It's been going for a few years now and seems like a great idea for certain types of freight, but cant say I've actually used it. Good luck.

The Zeebrugge - Hull ferry mentioned is indeed very convenient when travelling to the NE of England. I've used it several times with a car and once as a foot passenger - there are bus links from Brugge station and to Hull station. Convenient it is but cheap it definitely isn't!
There is also an overnight ferry from Rotterdam into the Tyne east of Newcastle which might be even more convenient but that is even more expensive.

The Hull ferry might be convenient, but it is also very expensive.
