Freewheeling: The Roller Bike Parade kicks off in Belgium

Roller Bike Parade Belgium 2023
17:59 16/06/2023

Grease those wheels, the annual Roller Bike Parade is back in Brussels and cities around around the country from 16 June until 22 September.

Everyone is invited to take part in this procession of people on wheels – roller and inline skates, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, or even a unicycle. If it’s on wheels and not motorised, it’s welcome in the weekly family-friendly parades.

Open to everyone from 10 years of age, the cities hosting the tours are Brussels (every Friday evening), Charleroi, Hasselt, Leuven, Mons, Roeselare, Nivelles and Wavre. Other cities could join the event and will be confirmed over the summer.

Participation is free and registration is not required. There’s a choice between a 5km or 20km course. On the day of the parade, an official announcement will be made via social media at 16.00 confirming the event.

In case of bad weather, the parade could be cancelled for safety reasons. Helmets, protective equipment and lighting are mandatory for children and recommended for everyone.
