Free and extended public transport in Brussels for New Year's Eve

12:21 27/12/2021

Brussels public transport operator Stib will again offer free public transport on New Year's Eve, with an extended service, it has confirmed.

Despite the Brussels firework display being cancelled, a large part of Winter Wonders shut down and cafes and restaurants having to close at 23.00, some 500 drivers will keep the Stib network running into the small hours of 1 January.

"Stib will be there to allow everyone to move around without hassle on New Year's Eve," the public transport firm announced.

Extra services will run on tram, bus and metro lines from 23.00 - and the whole Stib network will be free from midnight until the end of service. This is 2.00 for metros and trams.

The Noctis night bus network will run, free of charge, at an increased interval of every 15 to 20 minutes until 5.00 in the morning.
