Discover Brussels’ finest chocolatiers during a free chocolate tasting trail on 28 and 29 March
Brussels’ chocolate scene takes centre stage on 28 and 29 March with a free tasting trail through some of the capital’s finest chocolatiers.
Organised by Entreprendre Bruxelles (Ondernemen Brussel), BXL Gourmand invites visitors to explore the city at their own pace while sampling chocolate creations and meeting the artisans behind the tasty cocoa treats.

Several participating chocolatiers will offer free tastings, with chocolates presented in myriad forms, including pralines, chocolate bars, chocolate drops, hot chocolate and homemade biscuits. Others host workshops offering unique behind-the-scenes insights. At Plaisirs Chocolatés, for example, visitors can join a workshop held every 30 minutes to watch a praline being made live.

Among other highlights are Atelier Sainte-Catherine and The Belgian Chocolate Makers, which offer a glimpse into their bean-to-bar universe. Meanwhile, Arthur Amblard, winner of the Breakthrough Award 2026, surprises visitors with chocolate creations made without added sugars.
A map of all participating chocolatiers and tasting locations will be available online. However, advance registration is needed.
Celebrating Brussels’ top chocolatiers
The fascination with chocolate is deeply rooted in Brussels’ history. In 1912, Jean Neuhaus invented the praline in the Royal Saint-Hubert Galleries, a delicacy that is still widely recognised as inherently Belgian.
Today, more than 150 companies and around 200 shops and workshops keep Brussels’ chocolate-making tradition alive. Nationwide, Belgium counts around 2,000 shops dedicated solely to selling chocolate.

The sector is also highly competitive. This year, the independent guide Tartine & Boterham selected a group of exceptional chocolatiers from the Brussels-Capital Region for a competition, based on artisan expertise and a praline tasting.
To qualify, chocolatiers needed both a shop and a workshop in the region and also process their own cocoa beans or couverture chocolate to produce their pralines.
Several of this year’s winners will also open their doors during the chocolate trail.
