‘Diploma recognition to find a job’: Free webinar for expats on 22 February
Newcomers to Belgium often find it difficult to get their existing qualifications officially recognised – an often crucial step when applying for a job or considering further study.
That’s why the Expat Welcome Desk is running a webinar in English designed to help internationals navigate the process in both the French- and Dutch-speaking communities.
The free online event is on 22 February, from 12.00 to 13.30. Registration is required before 19 February via the email address: inscription@commissioner.brussels.
The webinar will outline the principles of diploma recognition in Belgium and how to apply for ‘equivalent’ qualifications.
A number of other issues will be covered, including enrolment at Actiris (or VDAB) as a job-seeker, improving language skills, integration programmes, social orientation courses, individual coaching and activities such as volunteering.
The session is moderated by the welcome desk’s senior legal advisor Amélie Bouvy with invited speakers from the Brussels bureau of the Flemish integration agency Bon, Joris Eikenaar and Jane Zacharzewski.
Expat Welcome Desk is a free service within the Brussels’ Commissioner’s office that advises internationals on the practicalities of daily life in the Belgian capital. It organises seminars throughout the year.
