Brussels resident wins Best Moustache 2017

True to tradition, the Order of the Brussels Moustache on Sunday voted Jean-Pierre De Norre as 'Schuunste Moestasj van' t Joer' for his exceptional moustache, reports De Standaard.

The Order of the Brussels Moustache gathers annually in the Marolles district to select the city's most beautiful moustache. This year, the honour goes to local resident Jean-Pierre De Norre (pictured), who has sported a moustache for 54 years. De Norre's spectacular facial hair requires little maintenance, he says. A shower and a comb are sufficient.

The winner of the folkloric contest was awarded a certificate, a bottle of old grain genever and other local delicacies.

"I'm a bit proud, but not overly proud," he says of his win.
