Belgium
14:27 30/03/2016
A police chief of the Brussels-Capital Region last week showed up drunk to a meeting called immediately after the terror attacks on Tuesday morning. The Brussels-Ixelles police had requested that all of the Region's police commissioners come together for a crisis meeting with the mayor. One of the police commissioners, R. D., arrived late to the meeting and failed to answer questions about possible weak areas in his corps, write various Belgian media.
The commissioner was promptly given an alcohol test, which revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.8 g/l, reports La Dernière Heure. R.D. surrendered his service weapon and was brought home.

What you betting he does not even lose his job?
Several years ago, I was involved in a minor traffic accident (newbie driver didn't know how to use the brake pedal) and when the police showed up, both cops were totally sloshed.
I would go further and say that it is possible that the question of disciplinary action has not even been discussed. Things will go on as "normal".
You can be your life that nothing will happen about it. It is a well known problem with the police.
There are many other things that would shock you about them too.....
It seems that once you are in the police, you cannot be fired, the syndicates are too strong.
Who is responsible of giving this person the charge of police chief of Ixelles?
Resignation!
