Brussels EuroMillions winner stops showing up to work
The colleagues of the Brussels man who on Tuesday last week won €168 million in the EuroMillions lottery say the man has not shown up to work in four days. The winner, a street cleaner at Bruxelles-Propreté, stopped coming to work on Wednesday.
Whether the father of four will ever return to his job is not yet known. The National Lottery Board, however, suggests that winners continue to lead their normal lives, especially in the days and weeks immediately following the news of their win. Some time is needed to let the news sink in, according to the Board.
The EuroMillions winner confirmed his shock last week. "I could hardly believe it. I only realised the extent of what had happened to me when I got home and checked everything again on my computer," he said.
