Brussels climate march scheduled for 20 September
A march demanding action regarding climate change will take place in Brussels on Friday 20 September.
The timing puts the demonstration just ahead of the UN summit on the future of the planet that will take place in New York on 22 and 23 September.
Various heads of state are expected to attend the summit.
In Brussels, speeches and live music will follow the march, which will leave from Brussels-Central station.
Several groups, including Rise for Climate and Youth for Climate, are promoting and will be taking part in the demonstration.
They are using it as a call for respecting the Paris Agreement and the European Green Deal, and rejecting austerity policies and climate pauses as a response to the global climate crisis.
They also want an end to government subsidies for fossil fuels.
