Brussels diners are eagerly awaiting the opening of the Rooftop Panoramic Eatery in Brucity, reports Bruzz.

The sky-high restaurant offering a panoramic view over the capital will cater to staff at the city of Brussels’ admin centre from the beginning of February.

Two weeks later, the general public will be invited to enjoy the menu and a view that’s lauded to be one of the best in Europe.

It’s predicted to be a festive occasion. "Two hundred people will be able to dine and enjoy the 360-degree view. The whole floor is surrounded by windows,” said André Van Hecke, director of Bru58, the consortium that runs the new restaurant and rooftop

Initially due to open its doors last September, technical issues resulted in delays, he  explained. "The restaurant was a complete shell, only concrete and glass. We had to do everything ourselves: the walls, the floors, the furniture, the kitchen... It took us six months."

Up on the ninth floor, the rooftop outdoor bar is expected to open in April, weather permitting. "But by next winter, we want to open a permanent, sheltered winter bar there, with 50 seats. It will be a cosy, chic bar, serving cocktails," said Van Hecke.
