The British School of Brussels to build major sports facility
A select group of Brussels students will soon have the chance to exercise in world-class facilities. The international British School of Brussels has received the go-ahead from Brussels’ Tervuren commune to begin construction on a €25 million sports complex.
The elite private school for children aged one to 18 has begun the process of tendering offers from contractors competing to build the ambitious sports centre, which is slated to include a 25-metre indoor swimming pool and state-of-the-art facilities for gymnastics, dance, and fitness studio. The project will be the school’s largest in its 44-year history.
The project is part of the school’s vision to make the institution a leader in both the classroom and on the playing field. If all goes as planned, the centre will open its doors between the spring and summer of 2016.
