BICS: An international school at the heart of the EU district

10:12 19/03/2019

Nestled at the heart of Brussels’ EU quarter, less than 10 minutes from the European Commission, the Brussels International Catholic School (BICS) welcomes some 700 children.

The pupils, with more than 60 nationalities represented, follow a carefully constructed curriculum in both English and French. BICS has thus built a unique school community in its three campuses dedicated to pre-primary, primary and secondary school.

Since its foundation 15 years ago, BICS has welcomed children from Europe, India, America, China and Africa. It has become a reference point for parents seeking a school where their children will develop their skills in an international and bilingual  environment.

Deeply rooted in the Christian tradition, BICS is future-oriented, with educational practices that allow children to develop their skills and their autonomy in a caring family environment. Committed to high standards as a Cambridge Assessment Centre and International School, the teachers are devoted to the children, who they know and care deeply about.

They are teaching an English-speaking programme focused on the Cambridge curriculum, and a French-speaking program based on the requirements of Belgium. The academic programme is structured and balanced within the liberal arts and sciences in order to develop each student’s intellectual potential to its fullest.

In this multi-cultural environment,  the children find joy in learning and understanding, while simultaneously building relationships – with peers and with teachers – that will last a lifetime.

BICS is also committed to developing good character, standards of conduct and a sense of social responsibility. The development of good citizenship in the students is regarded as a crucial and integral part of their education.

BICS’s goal has always been, and continues to be, to provide children with the opportunity to develop physically, mentally and emotionally at their own pace. By the time they leave the school, BICS pupils are ready to succeed in other elite educational institutions around the world, buoyed by the knowledge that the BICS community remains close and supportive.

The Office of Admissions at BICS endeavours to make the application and enrolment process as user-friendly as possible and looks forward to welcoming new students from all over the world.

It's such an amazing that at one place you have a number of cultures revolving around you. For me to be a part of this school is very interesting because I see the edu birdie review of learning. As you can learn many things from your environment so the environment should be considered.
