Bernard Lambrechts elected Moustache of the Year

Brussels resident Bernard Lambrechts (pictured) was voted Moestasj van ’t Joer, reports brusselnieuws.be. The prize is handed out every year by the Order of the Brussels Moustache, a folkloric association of locals with a penchant for growing extraordinary moustaches. The election took place Sunday morning in their headquarters, café Volle Brol on Brussels' Place du Jeu de Balle. Eleven candidates participated.

The Order of the Brussels Moustache chose Lambrechts’ as the most beautiful moustache of 2015, or, as it is written in Brussels’ dialect, moestasje van t’joêr. It is a prize one can only win once in a lifetime.

Lambrechts is proud of his victory, and hopes to see more moustaches in the streets of Brussels. According to him, there are many people with moustaches in his profession. He works at the federal police.
