12:24 02/09/2015

The unemployment rate in Belgium remained at about the same level between July 2014 and July 2015, dropping by 0.1% to 8.5%. In absolute figures, about 426,000 people in Belgium were jobless in July 2015. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate in the eurozone fell slightly in the same period, from 11.1% to 10.9%, reports Trends.

As of July 2015, Germany had the lowest unemployment rate of the 19 eurozone countries, with 4.7%, while Greece and Spain had the highest rates, with 25% and 22.2% respectively.

In Belgium last year, 18% of the under 25-year olds were without a job.

Forget the unemployment figures, where do you find the percentage of people working and paying their taxes? When we have so many retired from 50 and so many long term sick, I suspect a comparison using people actually in work would tell a very different story. 8. 5%? My eyes tell me differently.
