Belgian tapas set to take over Dubai

13:33 19/07/2013

A brand new lounge concept is set to open in Dubai in September, based on Belgian tapas, reports AMEinfo. Bapas, which will be based at the prestigious H Hotel, is the brainchild of Belgian restaurateurs Lars and Ronny Haesen. The two brothers are no strangers to running successful projects and their mentor is no other than their father Ivan Haesen. Acclaimed chef Jeroen Bleus will be responsible for the bapas menu, with the onus on quality produce. Bleus, trained at Hasselt catering college, will also be in charge of training staff to his standards. Apart from a unique décor and equally unique drinks menu, Lars Haesen does not want to give too much away. "Bapas is a play on Spanish Tapas, but Belgian. We are aiming to attract the after work crowd to our Belgian venue, and provide them with great Belgian tapas dishes as they have a drink with friends. We have a wonderful location and want it to be a home from home for our guests and friends." The lounge, designed by LW Design, considered to be at the forefront of hospitality projects in the UAE, will constitute a unique piece of Belgium here in the city of Dubai. The Haesen brothers have made a name for themselves in the beverage industry, and are now looking forward to providing a true Belgian experience in the Middle East.
