Belgian Red Devils slip past Cyprus in final five minutes

12:41 07/09/2015

Belgium's national football team is one win away from qualification for next year's UEFA European Championships in France (Euro 2016). With a sluggish 1-0 win over Cyprus in Nicosia on Sunday, the Red Devils maintain their second place in Group B. Eden Hazard scored the winning goal of the match in the 86th minute.

The win puts the team in a good position for final placement for Euro 2016. Head coach Marc Wilmots will lead his team to its next match on 10 October against Andorra, which has yet to score during the European qualifiers. A victory there would ensure Belgium a place in the European Championships, regardless of the outcome of their final duel in Brussels on 13 October against rival Israel.
